UAMS’ Hosea Long Receives National Award for Distinguished Service
| Dec. 1, 2010 | Hosea Long, associate vice chancellor for human resources at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), recently received the Distinguished Service Award from the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) 2010. Long, who has been at UAMS for the last 20 of his 33-year career in human resources, was honored for service to the organization that represents those working in human resources at institutions of higher education. Long was a charter member of the CUPA-HR Arkansas Chapter when it was formed in 1989. Since then, he has served the organization in virtually every capacity available: president of the Arkansas Chapter from 1994-95; representative to the Southwest Region Board of Directors 1996-2003; and a three-year term on the organization’s national board of directors from 2006-09. At UAMS, he has been director of recruitment, director of employee relations and director of Human Resources administration before becoming chief human resource officer of the institution in 1998. |
