UAMS College of Public Health Names Tilford Health Policy and Management Chair
| LITTLE ROCK – John “Mick” Tilford, Ph.D., has been named chair of the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health’s Department of Health Policy and Management at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).
Tilford has served as professor in the UAMS Department of Health Policy and Management since 2010. He also is co-director of the comparative effectiveness research component of the UAMS Translational Research Institute and director of the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Health Systems Research at the UAMS College of Public Health.
Tilford has secondary appointments in the UAMS College of Pharmacy’s Division of Pharmaceutical Evaluation and Policy and the Department of Pediatrics in the UAMS College of Medicine. He also is a senior analyst at the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care to assist with program evaluation.
Tilford began working at UAMS as an instructor in the department of pediatrics in 1993 after earning his doctorate in economics at Wayne State University.
UAMS is the state’s only comprehensive academic health center, with colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Professions and Public Health; a graduate school; a hospital; a statewide network of regional centers; and seven institutes: the Winthrop P.
