No Vented Masks Allowed at UAMS
| Vented masks are NOT to be worn inside UAMS. Masks with a small plastic vent on the side allow the wearer’s breath to leave the mask and potentially release COVID-infected particles.
These masks are designed to protect the wearer from inhaling harmful dust, chemicals and other irritants and make the mask cooler and more comfortable to wear, but they are not designed to prevent the spread of disease from the person wearing the mask. The intent of wearing masks at UAMS is to protect those around you, in addition to providing additional protection for yourself, and vented masks do not protect those around you.
Effective immediately, entrance screeners will not allow anyone to enter UAMS wearing a vented mask.
