Volunteers Needed
| Team UAMS has shown great resilience and determination in the fight against COVID-19. We appreciate everyone who has volunteered to help by taking on other duties as part of our “All Hands On Deck” program. Right now, we have a significant need for volunteers to help transport patients. At least three volunteers are needed for each shift, seven days a week. Shifts are from 9:00 a.m. to noon, noon to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. To volunteer, please call Transport Dispatch at (501) 686-7600.
Volunteers will help transport patients by wheelchair to and from outpatient clinics and help with movement within the hospital and to the discharge areas. Volunteers should report to Room 3D/29 on 3rd floor of the Central Building.
Volunteers are also needed in the following areas:
- Screening Stations – Sign up to help at a screening station.
- Nutrition Services – Two volunteers are needed daily from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Volunteers should report to the patient food supervisor.
- Hospital Units – Volunteers will sit at the nurses stations and answer patient call lights. Sign up to volunteer to support inpatient units.
