By Nathan Tidwell

Dean received the award during the Association of Oncology Social Work annual conference June 19-21 in New Orleans.

“To be recognized in this way is an incredible honor,” Dean said in accepting the award. “Over my 30-plus years as an oncology social worker, I’ve always had great respect for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and its support of blood cancer patients.”

In addition to his work at UAMS, Dean is a field liaison for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s School of Social Work, and a member of the board of directors for the Board of Oncology Social Work Certification.
