By Linda Satter

Dalvi joins UAMS from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine, where he was an associate professor.

“Dr. Dalvi is a superb clinician and educator, and was recruited to rebuild our rheumatology training program,” said Edward Yeh, M.D., department chair. “He will also expand the scope of clinical services at UAMS and introduce new clinical trials for patients with autoimmune diseases.”

Dalvi is board-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine, and specializes in arthritic diseases, including osteoarthritis, gout, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis. He is accepting new patients.

He obtained his medical degree in 2005 from UAB, where he also completed his internal medicine residency in 2008.

After his residency, Dalvi continued his training with a rheumatology fellowship at New York University, Hospital for Joint Diseases. He then worked as an assistant professor at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, before returning to UAB in 2018.

Dalvi is a two-time Castle Connolly Top Doctor, a designation reserved for the top 7% of all practicing physicians after they are peer-nominated and vetted by a physician-led research team.
