By Philip Allison

A native of Magnolia, Cross has operated Magnolia Pediatric Clinic since 1999. She has also been a member of the staff of Magnolia Regional Medical Center, serving as chief of pediatrics from 2002-2017.

“Dr. Amy Cross is a well-respected member of the Magnolia medical community, and we are delighted she is joining us at UAMS,” said Richard Reeves, senior administrative services director for UAMS South Regional Campus. “We’re committed to providing health care for the entire family, and Dr. Cross has been an outstanding pediatrician for over two decades. We’re excited she will continue to serve pediatric patients and help educate our resident physicians for years to come.”

Cross is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She earned her medical degree from UAMS in 1996 before completing a three-year residency with UAMS and Arkansas Children’s Hospital in 1999. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology, graduating magna cum laude, from Southern Arkansas University.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to join the team at UAMS in Magnolia,” Cross said. “I look forward to being part of the team because it will mean better support for me as a provider while also improving access to quality care and resources for my patients.”

Cross also is active in the Magnolia community. She is a member of the Health Services Advisory Committee for Families and Children Together (FACT, Inc.), an agency that provides family-centered and early Head Start program services for low-income families. She has served as a troop leader for the Girl Scouts of the USA.

Cross is accepting new patients, and will continue providing pediatric care to current patients, at the UAMS Family Medical Center, located at 1617 N. Washington St. in Magnolia. To make an appointment, please call (870) 234-7676.

Clinic hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday. On Thursday, the clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cross will also see patients in El Dorado in the future.

“I am proud of what I have accomplished over the years but know it is time to transition to something else,” Cross said. “I am excited to continue taking care of my patients, be a mentor to students and resident doctors and hopefully pass on some of the knowledge I have been blessed to learn.”
