By News Staff

In the course of her work, she puts into practice the UAMS culture of being polite, friendly, respectful, thoughtful, optimistic and compassionate. Read what her nominator said:

Alexis Spurgeon exemplifies what it means to be an MVP through her consistent support of frontline teams, strong communication, and willingness to go above and beyond in her role within Supply Chain. She works with E5 leadership daily to ensure our unit is fully stocked and prepared to provide safe, high-quality patient care. Her reliability and attention to detail directly support staff efficiency and help prevent delays in care. Over the past several months, our unit has undergone multiple supply moves and reorganizations. Alexis has been an essential partner throughout these transitions, always willing to help in any way needed.
Whether assisting with relocating supplies, adjusting stock levels, or troubleshooting issues in real time, she approaches challenges with a positive, solutions-focused mindset and remains flexible during constant change. Alexis also excels in communication. When substitutions are required, she provides clear and timely updates so staff can adjust without disrupting patient care. This proactive approach minimizes confusion and supports smooth operations. Alexis’ dedication directly supports the mission of UAMS by ensuring teams can perform at their best. Her impact is meaningful, consistent, and felt across our unit.

UAMS will recognize Alexis in several ways as this month’s MVP. Look for her photo on the Employee Appreciation Wall outside the Chancellor’s Suite in the Central Building. A Faces of UAMS video will feature her, and UAMS will honor her and other awardees at the year-end MVP luncheon.
