UAMS Medical Students Awarded Primary Care Scholarships
| Twenty students enrolled in the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine each received a $10,000 UAMS Primary Care Workforce Scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic year, announced Tom South, assistant dean for UAMS medical student admissions.
The UAMS Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, in partnership with UAMS Regional Campuses, awarded $200,000 in scholarships through a Health Resources and Services Administration Medical Student Education grant, led by David Kelley, M.D.
Scholarship awardees had to be from Arkansas, entering their third and fourth years of medical school and planning to specialize in primary care: family medicine, general internal medicine, general pediatrics, or combined internal medicine/pediatrics.

- Mattie Still — Little Rock
