“The Cancer Institute is a bright star on the horizon of health care … thousands of people are dependent on the expertise at the Cancer Institute.”

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993, Josetta Wilkins, Ed.D., became a tireless crusader in the fight against the disease. As an Arkansas state representative, she led the effort to pass the Arkansas Breast Cancer Act of 1997. Today she devotes her time to raising awareness of the research, treatment and technology available at the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.
