UAMS Welcomes Undergraduate Students for Diversity Day

More than 150 students from 10 Arkansas colleges and universities were on campus March 10 as part of UAMS Diversity Day, an event sponsored by the UAMS Center for Diversity Affairs.

The event gives underrepresented and disadvantaged students the chance to learn about various opportunities at UAMS. Students received feedback and advice on application forms and interview tactics, learned about summer enrichment and research program opportunities and received a tour of the campus.

Representatives from the UAMS colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Health Professions and Public Health, and the UAMS Graduate School presented to the students and held breakout sessions on programs and requirements. College representatives were also set up in the ground-floor concourse of ED II to answer questions and hand out more information about academic opportunities.

UAMS students held a panel discussion in the afternoon, allowing the undergraduates the opportunity to learn more about day-to-day life at UAMS and ask questions.
