Chancellor Patterson Welcomed by UAMS Northwest Regional Campus
| June 15, 2018 | UAMS Chancellor Cam Patterson, M.D., MBA, met today with employees of the UAMS Northwest Regional Campus, thanking them for their work to improve the health and health care for the people of Arkansas.
Patterson’s first day as chancellor was June 1. He traveled to northwest Arkansas for the morning reception held at the campus in Fayetteville, greeting dozens of UAMS employees to hear about their work.
He thanked Pearl McElfish, Ph.D., associate vice chancellor for the Northwest Regional Campus, for her leadership.
Patterson told employees that one of his top priorities is to see growth for UAMS programs in northwest Arkansas. UAMS has a $50 million annual economic impact on the region. The campus was established in 2007 and now has more than 300 medical, pharmacy, nursing and health professions students. Most recently, UAMS added a physical therapy doctoral program and is expected to begin accepting students into an occupational therapy doctoral program next year.
