Army Medical Team at UAMS to Help Care for COVID-19 Patients

Members of an Army medical team get fit-tested for personal protective equipment. The Army arrived on campus Sept. 10 to help provide COVID-19 patient care in the UAMS Medical Center.

Each speaker who spoke Sept. 9 to the Army personnel in the Lobby Gallery at UAMS chose different words to deliver the same message: We need you, and we are so very glad you’re here. Including nurses, respiratory therapists and physicians, the 20-person Army medical team arrived Thursday on the main campus for orientation.

Audiology, Speech Pathology Students Don White Coats

One of the many things the white coat represents for students pursuing degrees in the health care field is a fresh start. For the first-year students in the UAMS Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology, the department’s white coat ceremony on Aug. 20 marked the formal beginning of the next phase of their academic lives.

Sign Up for Payroll Deduction for Food Service Now Available Online

Employees now can sign up online to use payroll deduction to pay for food from Nutrition Services. All benefit-eligible faculty and staff may elect to sign up for payroll deduction in order to have charging privileges on campus.

UAMS Police: Illegal to Park in Front of Public, Private Driveways

The UAMS Police Department wants to remind the Campus Community that according to the Arkansas State Statue it is a violation of the law to park a vehicle in front of a public or private driveway. 


Pyxis Supply Station Requests Added to Supply Chain Portal

Starting on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at about 4 p.m., the UAMS Supply Chain portal is adding a way to report and track anything related to Pyxis Supply Stations.

UAMS Password Policy Changing; Implementation Delayed until Oct. 1

UAMS is updating the network password policy for all users. The result of this change will be to eliminate password expiration, meaning that users will no longer be required to change their passwords every 120 days. We will begin implementing this policy change on Sept. 1, 2021.

Take 2 Initiative Accepting Submissions

Take 2 is an innovative opportunity sponsored by the Center for Nursing Excellence for direct care nursing staff to submit ideas to eliminate two steps in a nursing process or practice to improve nursing workflow and save time without compromising safety. Submissions opened Aug. 1.
