UAMS, Presbyterian Village Celebrate 8 Centenarians

Margaret Alexander, 103, with her daughters at a Centenarian Celebration luncheon, hosted by Presbyterian Village and the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging.

For eight Little Rock women, it was the party of the century — all of their centuries. The ladies, all Presbyterian Village retirement community residents, were recently honored for having reached their 100th birthdays.

Graduate Students Compete in Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Research Competition

Jackson Mosley, a fourth-year medical student, won first place for his presentation of “Correlating Ytrium-90 PET/CT Absorbed dose with Tumor Response from Glass-Microsphere Radio Embolization.”

Ten students recently competed in this year’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Finals competition. First Myeloma Center Patient Receives Revolutionary New Therapy, Responds Well

Dave and Lori Puente of Elk Grove, California. Dave Puente is the first myeloma patient in Arkansas to receive new chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell immunotherapy treatment, which is only available at the UAMS Myeloma Center in the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.
