East Lane of Cedar Street Closed for One Month
To facilitate work on the Pine/Cedar streets project, the east lane of Cedar will close Oct. 4 and remain closed for about one month. The closing will only affect the area of the east lane of Cedar Street closest to the intersection of Cedar and Plateau streets.

UAMS Launches Student Homeownership Promotion Program
UAMS is happy to present the Student Homeownership Promotion Program. The program will include targeted financial educational classes, free tax preparation with savings promotion, and housing/credit counseling through our partner lending institution, Southern Bancorp Community Partners (SBCP).

Sign Up for Payroll Deduction for Food Service Now Available Online
Employees now can sign up online to use payroll deduction to pay for food from Nutrition Services. All benefit-eligible faculty and staff may elect to sign up for payroll deduction in order to have charging privileges on campus.

Watch the Shoulder Savers presentation via YouTube, recorded Sept. 14. Fitness Center Manager Adam Carter’s demonstrates two sources of mild shoulder discomfort and how exercise may improve shoulder health and exercise effectiveness.

Take 2 Initiative Accepting Submissions
Take 2 is an innovative opportunity sponsored by the Center for Nursing Excellence for direct care nursing staff to submit ideas to eliminate two steps in a nursing process or practice to improve nursing workflow and save time without compromising safety. Submissions opened Aug. 1.

Reminder: You Must Wear Your Mask on UAMS Property
Everyone at UAMS, including employees, visitors, faculty and students, must wear their masks at all times on UAMS property, even outdoors or while walking to and from your vehicle or other transportation.

Fourth Street Pedestrian, Vehicle Traffic Restricted
The most recent UAMS project (Radiation Oncology Center/Proton Therapy Center) has begun at the intersection of Fourth and Cedar streets. Because of the project, Fourth Street is effectively closed between Cedar and Pine streets and will be for the next two years.
