UAMS Fitness Court Open to Employees, Students
UAMS has worked with the National Fitness Campaign and the City of Little Rock to build an outdoor fitness court here on campus. Starting Nov. 19, the court will be available to UAMS employees and students only.
Once the construction on the other side of the court has cleared and it is safe for foot traffic to come from the neighborhood side, we will open it fully to the community and have a grand opening.
Options to Help Employees Quit Tobacco
UAMS has a number of options for employees who are trying to quit smoking or using other tobacco products.
COPH Presents Webinars on Proper Ventilation During COVID
The Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health teamed up with Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield and the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce earlier this month to present webinars on the role of proper ventilation in protecting employees, customers and businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. These webinars are now available on YouTube.

New All Hazards Plan and Quick Reference Flip Charts
Effective December 1, the new comprehensive UAMS All Hazards Emergency Operations Plan and plain language alert procedures will be implemented. UAMS will no longer use emergency color codes for hazards or incidents.

Effective Nov. 23, the Barton Bridge, which connects the Barton Building to Biomed I, will be closed for 45 days.

Implicit Bias Training
The Division for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DDEI) is excited to announce the launch of a momentous initiative for UAMS. Per the Vision 2029 strategic plan, UAMS will require completion of a cultural humility/implicit bias workshop, on an annual basis, for all UAMS faculty and staff state-wide beginning in November 2020.

Plateau Street Between Pine and Cedar Closed; Don’t Cut Through Parking Lots
Plateau Street between Pine and Cedar Streets closed to traffic July 8 and will remain closed until approximately September 2022 as part of the project to reroute Pine and Cedar. Please DO NOT cut through the Walgreen’s and Subway parking lots as this creates a dangerous situation.

UAMS Scam Calls
A person who identified himself as Trevor with Physicians Network/Northwestern Mutual has called UAMS faculty, stating that he was calling to schedule a financial planning meeting. The person stated that this is a service that UAMS is offering to faculty. Please be aware that this is a scam. TIAA and Fidelity are the only UAMS vendors that we use for financial wellness planning.
