It’s a little bit of magic that happens annually at the UAMS Graduate School’s Research Induction Ceremony, when Ph.D. candidates from a variety of disciplines put on the white lab coats that symbolize their dedication to science.

Room Service Coming to UAMS Hospital

Wendell Foster, a Nutrition Services chef who prepares meals for patients, cooks a hamburger. On Oct. 2, patients will be able to order room service.

Beginning Oct. 2, patients in the UAMS hospital will be able to call Nutrition Services and order their own meals. Orders can be placed from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and orders will be delivered to patient rooms within 45 minutes.

LITTLE ROCK — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), seeking to build on last year’s success, will hold its second annual Day of Giving on Oct. 2 and aims to raise $400,000 in 24 hours through donations to its foundation.

Sept. 24, 2018 | A month-long celebration of the life and career of Edith Irby Jones, M.D., who enrolled 70 years ago at UAMS as the first African-American medical student in the South, brought thanks and appreciation from those she inspired and served.

It is that time again – time to get your flu shot! Flu vaccinations are mandatory for all UAMS employees, non-employees and students. The deadline to receive your vaccination is Nov. 14.

Sept. 6, 2018 | The UAMS College of Nursing and College of Pharmacy welcomed nursing and pharmacy students from the Kaohsiung Medical University in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, to campus in August for a four-week, study-abroad opportunity.
