Crooks Invested with Simmons Chair in Cancer Research

April 12, 2012 | Peter A. Crooks, Ph.D., D.Sc., chair of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS College of Pharmacy, was invested with the Johnny and Madge Simmons Chair in Cancer Research on April 12.


Free Skin Cancer Screenings May 19 at UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute

LITTLE ROCK – People concerned about changes to their skin are invited to participate in a free skin cancer screening from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. May 19 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). The screenings will take place on the sixth floor of the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.

April 10, 2012 | Rhonda Smith’s stroke was about as severe as they come. Her chance for survival was slim without immediate access to a stroke neurologist who could correctly diagnose her type of stroke so she could receive a powerful clot-dissolving drug.


UAMS Sets May Computer Classes for People 50 and Up

LITTLE ROCK – Computer classes on Fundamentals for Beginners, Print Artist Graphics, Genealogy and Introduction to Computers will be taught in May for people ages 50 and older at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging. Genealogy is taught only once a year. <br />
