LITTLE ROCK – Terry DuBose, director of the Division of Diagnostic Medical Sonography of the Department of Imaging and Radiation Sciences in the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ (UAMS) College of Health Related Professions, recently received the Joan Baker Pioneer Award from the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) for his contributions to the field of sonography.

LITTLE ROCK – Surgery to remove his prostate left Missouri veterinarian Galen Bird incontinent and depressed. After trying medications and other treatments, he underwent surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and “I’m a new person,” he said.

LITTLE ROCK – William R. “Bill” and Cacilia Howard of El Dorado have established a $2 million charitable remainder trust to benefit the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). The trust is designated to benefit breast cancer research.
