Osteoporosis Drug May Have Adverse Effects on Breast Cancer Patients with Vitamin D Deficiency, UAMS Study Shows
LITTLE ROCK – A researcher at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has determined that a drug commonly prescribed for osteoporosis and bone cancer may have an adverse effect on patients with a previously undiagnosed vitamin D deficiency.

UAMS to Offer Free Head and Neck Cancer Screenings April 20
LITTLE ROCK — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is offering free head and neck cancer screenings from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. April 20 on the sixth floor of the Arkansas Cancer Research Center (ACRC). Screenings will be conducted by the UAMS Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery.

LITTLE ROCK – Surgery rid 50-year-old professional musician Dennis Holt of prostate cancer, but it also left him incontinent. Holt and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) urology expert John R. Delk II, M.D., will talk about male incontinence and impotence during a free seminar on Thursday, April 12, at 6 p.m. in the Fred W. Smith Auditorium at the UAMS Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute.
