UAMS Hematology/Oncology Division Receives National Certification
LITTLE ROCK – The Hematology/Oncology Division at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has received a national certification for its high standard of care.
Townsend Honored as Arkansan of the Year
Roxane A. Townsend, M.D., vice chancellor for Clinical Programs and chief executive officer of UAMS Medical Center, was one of eight Arkansans of the Year recently named by Arkansas Life magazine, a publication of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, for “moving this great state forward – and who inspire us all to be better.”

Pharmacy Alumnus, Benefactor Honored
Dec. 4, 2014 | Carl Collier, who received his bachelor’s degree in the UAMS College of Pharmacy in 1964 and later his PharmD., recently was honored by the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce with the Wes Golden Gordon Deeds Award. The award recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to the quality of life in Fayetteville. The award was presented by Nancy Allen, daughter of the late Wes Gordon.
