An Arkansas State Police officer critically injured Jan. 3 in a vehicle accident is alive today because of teams of UAMS physicians, nurses and others who responded in the critical hours and days afterward.

Genomics Workshop Sparks Students’ Interest in Research

Nearly 40 students from across the state gathered at UAMS during spring break to attend a free genomics workshop March 18-20 where they learned about third-generation sequencing through lectures and hands-on computer work.

This spring break about 40 students from across Arkansas passed on the beach and instead advanced their scientific knowledge. Those attending the free workshop at UAMS gained experience with third-generation sequencing, which helps scientists understand the type of genetic information carried in DNA.

Central Building Stairwell Gets a Makeover

One of the stairwells on campus has gotten an inspiring facelift.The Get Healthy UAMS committee chose three artists to paint murals in the Central Building’s Stairwell Five, located behind the C elevators. The murals are located between the ground floor and the first floor.
