Easts Give $1 Million for Surgical Oncology Chair

May 8, 2015 | A $1 million gift by James C. and Mary Kay East to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has established the Kent C. Westbrook, M.D. Chair in Surgical Oncology. The chair will provide resources to ensure patients have the opportunity to understand their disease and participate in decisions based on scientific evidence, treatment availability and their own wishes.

Atiq, M.D., of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has been named governor of the Arkansas Chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the national organization of internists. His term began during the ACP annual scientific meeting, Internal Medicine 2015, in Boston on April 30-May 2.
