UAMS, Tendo Team Up to Offer Transparent Online Purchasing for Self-Pay Patients
| LITTLE ROCK — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has teamed up with Tendo, makers of MDsave, an online medical service platform, to connect providers and patients with transparent and affordable healthcare. With MDsave, patients who do not use health insurance to pay for their care can shop online for affordable medical procedures and save an average of 50% on their healthcare costs.
MDsave offers a free website where patients can purchase vouchers online for procedures at UAMS Health with a single payment. The upfront bundled pricing listed on the website includes all fees that are typically incurred with a specific procedure, such as hip or knee replacement, orthopaedic, weight loss, and GI surgery, and labor and delivery. MDsave can also be used for MRIs, CT scans, ultrasound, colonoscopy, mammography, physical therapy, office visits, pregnancy care, and lab work.

Patients who have to pay out of pocket due to high deductibles, coinsurance or denial of coverage can also take advantage of MDsave.”
After choosing UAMS Health for their care, patients can purchase a procedure voucher online with debit or credit cards, health saving funds, or financing through MDsave’s CareCredit program. The CareCredit program offers qualifying patients 12-month financing for purchases of $200 or more and 24-month financing for MDsave purchases of $1,000 or more.
