Medical Laboratory Sciences Students Graduate into Strong Job Market

On Dec. 18, graduates of the Medical Laboratory Sciences program in the Department of Laboratory Sciences celebrated some good news: They successfully had completed a challenging program of study, and their job prospects look bright.

The Year in Review, 2023: UAMS Opens Several New Buildings, Expands Clinical Programs

In 2023, UAMS celebrated several openings of new facilities as well as broke ground on new construction. Starting top left, they were: 1 - Urology Center in Premier Medical Plaza; 2 - Orthopaedic & Spine Clinic in North Little Rock; 3 - new Radiation Oncology Center; 4 - Proton Center; 5 - The Orthopaedic & Spine Hospital; 6 - Cancer clinic and infusion center at Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock; 7 - Orthopaedics & Sports Performance Center in Springdale (concept art); and 8 Milk Bank.

The spring and summer of 2023 brought growth to UAMS as the university opened several new facilities including a new hospital  on the Little Rock campus and broke ground on a new sports performance center in Northwest Arkansas.

Labor & Delivery Nurse Reva Martin Honored with Willow Award

After losing two babies in two years, Dylan and Skye Billingsley returned to UAMS on Dec. 6 to surprise and thank the nurse who helped them to emotionally survive those experiences.

UAMS Receives Delta Dental Grant to Support Patient Care

Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation recently renewed a $30,000 grant to the UAMS 12th Street Health & Wellness Center to help pay for additional dental care for patients seen first at the free clinic.

Nutrition Seminar Speaker: Protein Intake, Exercise Key to Fighting Muscle Loss in Older Adults
