UAMS was chosen as the “Best Place to Work” in the Arkansas Times’s 2020 Best of Arkansas poll.

UAMS was chosen as the “Best Place to Work” in the Arkansas Times’s 2020 Best of Arkansas poll. UAMS was also among the finalists in the “Best Hospital” and the “Best Diet/Weight Loss Center” categories.

Art from the Heart Celebrates Creativity of Team UAMS

Gohar Azhar, M.D., submitted two pieces for the Art from the Heart exhibit, including "Together." Twenty members of Team UAMS submitted artwork for the exhibit, which was presented via Zoom on July 9.

The second “Art from the Heart: Creative Works from Team UAMS” went virtual July 9 as about 60 people tuned in to celebrate the creativity of UAMS employees and students.

No Vented Masks Allowed at UAMS

Vented masks are NOT to be worn inside UAMS. Masks with a small plastic vent on the side allow the wearer’s breath to leave the mask and potentially release COVID-infected particles. Effective immediately, entrance screeners will not allow anyone to enter UAMS wearing a vented mask.

Supportive Conversations Hotline Offers Employees Someone to Talk To

Susan McDougal, director of pastoral care at UAMS, is one of several volunteers for Supportive Conversations, a 24/7 hotline for UAMS employees who need to someone to listen. "Being able to talk to someone who understands what you’re going through and can talk with you through your immediate crisis is so valuable.”

During this stressful time of social isolation in the midst of a pandemic, employees need someone to talk to, said Susan McDougal, director of pastoral care at UAMS.

COVID-19 Testing Draws Hundreds to North Little Rock Drive-thru

Working at the COVID-19 testing drive-thru at Shorter College in North Little Rock, a UAMS nurse takes a minute to enter some patient information into an iPad.

The UAMS Mobile Triage team offered COVID-19 testing to anyone who came to their drive-thru June 30 at Shorter College in North Little Rock, and hundreds of people showed up in response.
