College of Health Professions Students, Families Celebrate with Brunch, Hooding Ceremonies

College of Health Professions students graduating with Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Doctor of Audiology, Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition, Master of Science in Genetic Counseling, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Master of Physician Assistant Studies degrees were invested with hoods. Hundreds of UAMS College of Health Professions students and their families joined faculty and staff May 17 to celebrate their pending graduation, first with an informal brunch and later with an afternoon hooding ceremony.

Spotlight on the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology

A child receives hippotherapy through the Speech-Language Pathology Program. Hippotherapy is a treatment tool that uses equine movement to help with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing goals. It is a combination of physical, occupational, and speech therapy that involves placing clients on horses while providing intervention.

The UAMS Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) Program is the only Au.D. program in Arkansas, dedicated to equipping students with the skills necessary to navigate the dynamic and evolving field of audiology healthcare.
