The Go Baby Go project in Northwest Arkansas recently completed its second year of operation, expanding its reach and refining its approach to providing modified electric ride-on cars to children with mobility challenges.

Grant Funds Interprofessional Training to Combat Opioid Overdose

Grant funds will support the development and evaluation of a curriculum for administration of naloxone, used to counteract the effects of opioid overdose.

Researchers from the Colleges of Nursing, Pharmacy and Health Professions’ Physician Assistant program are combining efforts to battle the opioid epidemic through overdose education.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Health Professions bid farewell to two longtime faculty members as 2020 came to an end. Betholyn Gentry, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, and Tony Baker, M.Ed., RDMS, RVT, retired after decades at UAMS.

Medical Laboratory Sciences Student Awarded National Scholarship

Misty Schoolfield, a Medical Laboratory Sciences student in the College of Health Professions, received a national scholarship from the American Proficiency Institute.

Misty Schoolfield, a junior in the College of Health Professions’ Medical Laboratory Sciences programs, is one of five students nationwide to receive a $2,000 scholarship from the American Proficiency Institute (API).

UAMS Blanket Drive Warms Homeless and the Heart

Hundreds of homeless or housing insecure people in and around Little Rock now have something to help them stay warmer during the winter months all because a student in the UAMS College of Nursing just happened to witness – and be inspired by – a specific act of kindness.
