College of Medicine Honors Dean Christopher Westfall, M.D., and Outstanding Faculty, Staff

College of Medicine Dean Christopher T. Westfall, M.D., is presented the Distinguished Faculty Service Award by UAMS Provost and Chief Academic Officer Stephanie Gardner, Pharm.D., Ed.D., at the college’s Dean’s Honor Day ceremony. The signature honor of the college is commemorated with an art glass bowl created by Arkansas artist James Hayes.

The College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) recognized exemplary faculty and staff at its annual Dean’s Honor Day awards ceremony on May 17, capping the event with a surprise tribute to retiring Dean and UAMS Executive Vice Chancellor Christopher T. Westfall, M.D.

UAMS to Offer COVID-19 Vaccinations to Children Ages 12-15

Susan Smyth, M.D., Ph.D., Named Dean of the UAMS College of Medicine

Susan S. Smyth, M.D., Ph.D., will join UAMS on June 1 as the next College of Medicine dean, succeeding Christopher Westall, M.D., who is retiring after 24 years at UAMS.

LITTLE ROCK — Susan S. Smyth, M.D., Ph.D., has been named executive vice chancellor and dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), effective June 1.

UAMS Partners with City of Little Rock To Relocate COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic

Pharmacist Neha Sharma, Pharm.D., and College of Pharmacy student Gabriella Nepomuceno work in the UAMS COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Starting Feb. 25, the clinic is relocating to the Centre at University Park at 6401 West 12th St., in Little Rock.

LITTLE ROCK — In partnership with the City of Little Rock, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is moving its public vaccination clinic to a new location.
