Institute for Digital Health & Innovation to Host ‘Traumatic Brain Injury Resources Workshop” Nov. 4
The UAMS Institute for Digital Health and Innovation’s TBI Team will host a “Traumatic Brain Injury Resources Workshop” on Nov. 4 in an effort to connect anyone affected by a TBI to helpful resources and support.
Registration Now Open for Research Day, Nov. 2
Registration is now open for Research Day on 8 a.m. – noon, Nov. 2. The program will include 14 oral presentations, 24 posters, and keynote speaker Debra Nestel, Ph.D., will present “Modern Interprofessional Simulation Education.”
New Learning Management System Available to Patient Access Support Services
Patient Access Support Services is now using a new Learning Management System (LMS) called HealthStream. HealthStream is designed for the healthcare sector and is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through the development of healthcare organizations’ greatest asset: their people.
Procurement Request Portal Launches Additional Improvements
As part of its vision for the future of UAMS Purchasing, the university has made several improvements in the past week to its procurement request portal.
Monster Bash Oct. 29 to Benefit Home for Healing
The Monster Bash, a Halloween costume party to raise funds for the Home for Healing, will be from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at The Venue @ Westwind, 7318 Windsong Drive, North Little Rock.

Research Induction Ceremony Recognizes Graduate Students’ Progress

The UAMS Graduate School recognized 52 students during a research induction ceremony Sept. 13.
September MVP — Kacie Davis

The MVP for September is Kacie Davis, who in the course of his job demonstrates the UAMS values of being polite, friendly, respectful, thoughtful, optimistic and compassionate. Kacie is a case coordinator in the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute’s Crisis Stabilization Unit.

2021 Employee Service Awards — The Honorees

Each year, UAMS recognizes employees with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 years of service. This year, UAMS honors 1,328 employees. Because of COVID-19, the 2021 celebration Oct. 5 on Zoom will be for those members of Team UAMS with 20 plus years of service.
Research Conference Features Two National Speakers, Expert Panels and Q & As, Oct. 28
All UAMS-affiliated researchers are invited to “Virtual Research in a Complicated World,” a Zoom-based conference set for Thursday, Oct. 28, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The event includes two national speakers and Q & As with UAMS IRB and other research leaders.
