College’s Faculty Never Stop Learning, Study for Advanced Degrees

Some faculty members in the UAMS College of Health Professions have headed back to school — a role that gives them greater insight into their own students. About 20 professors and instructors out of 81 in the college are pursuing advanced degrees in postgraduate programs or have recently completed them.

When Brenna Ramirez graduated with a degree is in kinesiology, she didn’t follow the typical sports path. Instead, she began working as a registered behavioral therapist, providing services to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
