Physical Therapy Class Achieves Remarkable 100% First-Attempt Pass Rate on Board Exams

Physical therapy doctoral students achieved a 100% first-attempt pass rate on the National Physical Therapy Exam they took in 2023

The most recent cohort of Physical Therapy doctoral students to graduate from the College of Health Professions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) accomplished a remarkable feat by achieving a 100% first-attempt pass rate on the National Physical Therapy Exam they took in 2023.

Spotlight on the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology

A child receives hippotherapy through the Speech-Language Pathology Program. Hippotherapy is a treatment tool that uses equine movement to help with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing goals. It is a combination of physical, occupational, and speech therapy that involves placing clients on horses while providing intervention.

The UAMS Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) Program is the only Au.D. program in Arkansas, dedicated to equipping students with the skills necessary to navigate the dynamic and evolving field of audiology healthcare.

PA Students Raise $6,500 to Fight Hunger, Present Check to Arkansas Food Bank

UAMS, Western Piedmont Community College Sign Memorandum of Understanding for Student Transfers

The Year in Review, 2023: UAMS Opens Several New Buildings, Expands Clinical Programs

In 2023, UAMS celebrated several openings of new facilities as well as broke ground on new construction. Starting top left, they were: 1 - Urology Center in Premier Medical Plaza; 2 - Orthopaedic & Spine Clinic in North Little Rock; 3 - new Radiation Oncology Center; 4 - Proton Center; 5 - The Orthopaedic & Spine Hospital; 6 - Cancer clinic and infusion center at Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock; 7 - Orthopaedics & Sports Performance Center in Springdale (concept art); and 8 Milk Bank.

The spring and summer of 2023 brought growth to UAMS as the university opened several new facilities including a new hospital  on the Little Rock campus and broke ground on a new sports performance center in Northwest Arkansas.

UAMS Receives Delta Dental Grant to Support Patient Care

Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation recently renewed a $30,000 grant to the UAMS 12th Street Health & Wellness Center to help pay for additional dental care for patients seen first at the free clinic.

UAMS 12th Street Center Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Fall Festival

Face-painting and crafts were among several activities available to the public attending the Fall Festival celebrating the 10th anniversary of the UAMS 12th Street Health & Wellness Center.
