UAMS Neonatologists Now on Call for Regional Hospitals
LITTLE ROCK – Four regional Arkansas hospitals have joined a new round-the-clock telemedicine program that links their doctors with University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) neonatologists anytime a newborn requires special medical attention. A neonatologist specializes in the care of newborns up to two months old.

Shane Broadway of Bryant and coordinated by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Public Health identified concerns by state agencies at being able to provide adequate social services to an aging and increasingly diverse population.

May 27, Science Café – ‘Modern Exercise: Not Just Jogging Anymore’
LITTLE ROCK – The Science Café Little Rock, co-sponsored by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), will hold its next public forum, “Modern Exercise: Not Just Jogging Anymore” on May 27. Panelists will describe their experience with different types of exercise (e.g., riding, yoga). Muscle strengthening at different ages and who might get the most benefits will be discussed.

Hand Surgeon Lumsden Joins UAMS
LITTLE ROCK – Robert M. Lumsden, II, M.D., has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) as a hand surgeon and professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He also will be responsible for developing the Hand Fellowship Training Program at UAMS.
