Graduate School’s Ph.D. in Nursing Program Stands Alone in Arkansas

Aug. 11, 2026 | The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Graduate School is home to the only program in the state offering a doctoral degree in nursing. The Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing program gives candidates the opportunity to progress into advanced roles in nursing.

UAMS Receives $2.4 Million to Study Bone Loss in Aging and Brittle Bone Disease

Aug. 10, 2026 | LITTLE ROCK — Thanks to a $2.4 million grant from the National Institute on Aging, researchers at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) are studying mechanisms that could be manipulated to improve bone formation and bone strength in aging populations and in people with brittle bone disease.
